HARRISBURG – Today, Rep. John Schlegel (R-Lebanon) announced that $1.2 million in state gaming revenue will be awarded to three entities in his legislative district under the Local Share Account (LSA) program.
Each year, the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA), an independent agency of the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED), which holds fiduciary responsibility over the funding of programs and investments on behalf of the Commonwealth, distributes the state’s share of gaming revenue to local governments and programs.
The LSA grants approved today:
City of Lebanon – $500,000 to modernize Lebanon Fire Department Station I to accommodate both male and female firefighters. Renovations include updates to bathrooms, sleeping quarters, lighting and windows, replacing the sewer system, and making necessary HVAC upgrades.
Lebanon Valley Economic Development Corporation – $400,000 on behalf of the WEPA Empowerment Center, Inc., for the rehabilitation of its bi-lingual community-based workforce development center at 9 South Ninth St. in Lebanon. The project would include demolition of sections of the building, construction of a new rear addition, roof repairs and installation of an ADA-compliant elevator.
North Lebanon Township – $300,000 to replace a structurally deficient 315-foot retaining wall along Jay Street, repaving around the area and installation of protective fencing.
“It was my pleasure to support these grants, which will cover a significant portion of the total project costs and enhance the safety and well-being of the residents of our communities,” Schlegel said.
